Students go to the college to study and broaden their horizons. But the principal of women’s institution in Jharkhand thinks it is also hunting ground for suitable brides.
The Jamshedpur Women’s College, an autonomous college in Ranchi University, has launched a Swayamvar bureau on its campus. Interested girls can submit their bio-data in the hope of finding a perfect match. The girls’ bio-data will be kept secret. It is started with aim of helping girls from poverty, disease and handicap backgrounds who want to marry without giving any dowry. The staff will verify the facts of both families and they will ensure that no dowry transaction takes place.
The college will also receive bio-data from boys. So this helps many parents and college girls. People are appreciating the college principal’s efforts for suitable match.

Dhanbad is a district in Jarkhand state. Its a hilly region, coal mines and industries, and on the south of the Damodar River consists of cultivable flat land. It is also called as the mining town, as it is internationally famous for its rich coal fields. It has many technical institutions and research centers.
The part of the district is the Dhangi hills, situated in the strip falling between the Grand trunk road in the north and the Grand chord line of the Eastern Rly.
It has many attractions, Topchanchi Lake (an artificial lake surrounded by green hills and forests), Maithon Dam designed for flood control (built on the Barakar river).

Saranda forest of Jharkhand is one of the largest Sal forests in Asia. Nowadays the forests are catching fire frequently because of carelessness on part of the nomadic people who burn wood logs to cook food near the forest area and people who carelessly thrown cigarette butts.
The authorities say, a fire line process through which the dry leaves can be arranged and burnt in a controlled environment to avoid forest fires. The forest officials claim that they have got the green chit for making a fire line to keep the forests safe.

The district of Deoghar lies in the North-Eastern Part of the state of Jharkhand in Santhal Pargana. Deoghar is famous as the cultural capital of Jharkhand.
The earlier history found that Deoghar was ruled by the last Gupta Emperor Adityasena Gupta, in the 8th century A.D. The Baidyanath dham temple has been famous since then. Later Deoghar region was ruled by the Mughals.

Deoghar has an importance in the Hindu religion. Therefore, it is a most visited religious tourist place of Jharkhand state. Ravneshwar Shiva temple of Deoghar is a Siddha Peeth on amongst the twelve Shiva Jyotir-lingams in India. Every year a ‘mela’ (fair) is organized in the month of Shrawan (A Hindu month). It’s famous for the temple of Shiva-Baidyanath and the place is a popular holiday centre.

Chatra is the administrative headquarters of Chatra District, Jharkhand. It has a glorious past with an outstanding historical heritage. It is well known for Shakti cult. Chatra is about 120 km north-west of Ranchi - the capital of Jharkhand.
The major portion of the Chatra district is covered by forest (more than 60%) and has scattered settlement patterns.

Betla is a national park situated in Jharkhand. It is one of the earliest established national parks or sanctuaries in the country and was later upgraded to a tiger reserve. Betla is most important tourist place of Jharkhand having luxuriant Sal and miscellaneous trees and bamboo forests.
226 sq. km. of Betla forest has been declared as Betla National Park and 753 sq. km. Of forest has been declared as Palamu Sanctuary. The forest starts from Kechki and extended up to Neterhat. The forest has birds, Mammals, Medicinal plants, besides reptiles and other species.
There are accommodations available in forest tourist cottages, forest rest house, tourism department. Private hotels having well furnished facilities are alternative modes of accommodation. Private jeeps, guides are available to go around the area.

A city founded by the late Jamshedji Nusserwanji Tata, Jamsehdpur, then known as Sakchi was home to the first private Iron and Steel company of India. The city was named Jamshedpur in 1919 by Lord Chelmsford, in honour of its founder.
Jamshedpur is located in the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand on the Chota-Nagpur plateau. It is surrounded by the beautiful Dalma Hills, and the rivers Subarnarekha and Kharkhai run through it.
It is a modern, industrial city; the main industries being iron and steel, truck manufacturing, tinplate production. The other major factory in the city is called Tata Electric and Locomotive Company (TELCO), which manufactures heavy vehicles in the city.
Many tourist and religious attractions are there in and around the city. They include Tata Zoological Park, TELCO Bhuwaneswari Temple, Jayanti Sarowar, Jubilee Park and Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary.

Bokaro Steel City is a city in Jharkhand, India and is one of the most important industrial cities in the Eastern Region. It is located on the southern bank of river Damodar. The surrounding regions are quite picturesque with green valleys and streams.

Bokaro Steel plant is one of the largest steel mills in the country. Other places nearing to Bokaro are the Garga Dam and Parasnath Hills in Bokaro where you may bask in the nature’s beauty. Bokaro Ispat Pustakalaya has a collection of over 40,000 books that meets the reading requirements of the people in the township, City Park. Bokaro has a well maintained City Park with an artificial lake. Recently three artificial islands have also been added.
